石のベンチ：「サネカズラ」の種
 

新しい時代に芽吹く種蒔き、という意図で種子の形をした石のベンチを「蒔いて」いる。それは新たな文化の種を長崎から発信するという意図がこめられている。それはかつて江戸時代に唯一の西洋文明の種が長崎からまかれ、19世紀の日本を開国へと導いたことをも暗に示唆したコンセプトである。これはサネカズラという植物の種子。

Seed-shaped benches are placed as a metaphor of sowing new culture in the coming age,
just as the seeds of the Western culture were scattered only from Nagasaki in the Yedo period, which led to the opening of our country in 19th century.
